Facial Rejuvenation

Many of us notice the first signs of aging in our faces due to the exposure to sun and its prominent visibility to ourselves and others. There are many procedures which can improve the signs of aging, help turn back the clock a little and delay the inevitable aging that may make us look older than we feel inside.

A Facelift may be considered if sagging and deep creases show up in your face or neck. Loss of muscle tone and structure may create the appearance of jowls, a double chin or frown lines. Facelifts do not change the basic structure of your face but do tighten the skin eliminating or reducing wrinkles and sagging and rejuvenating the face and neck area. Incision placement varies depending on the type of facelift desired, but typically incisions are placed where they are hidden by the hairline or in a location where they will be difficult to detect.

A Forehead lift (brow lift) is often done to reduce the wrinkles between the eyes, lift the skin folds above the eyes and smooth the brow area. The incisions are typically made across the top of the head and hidden behind the hairline. Even people with thin hair or balding can have incisions placed where they may not be seen.

A Blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery) eliminates the excess skin that droops around the upper and lower eye area causing the look of tiredness . Excess skin and fatcan be removed and the skin lifted to reduce bags, puffiness and even improve peripheral vision for some people.

A Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) can alter several things about your nose to make you feel more comfortable with your overall facial appearance. Nose size and width can be altered, profile changes with humps or depressions can be smoothed, nasal tips can be made bigger/smaller/ straighter, general asymmetry and deviation changes can be corrected. Nose surgery is typically not done on someone younger than 13 years of age as facial growth should be complete before surgery is done.

Laser Resurfacing (Laser peeling) can be done to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. Lasers work by emitting a strong intense beam of light that can vaporize skin blemishes. There are several different types of lasers available and the advance in technology produces better results with more accurate precision and safety enhancements. Laser resurfacing can be used alone or in conjunction with other surgical procedures. Consulting with your plastic surgeon will help determine the best options for the results you desire.
